avventure

always an adventure. our bus stopped for a lady and a moped totally rammed the back of us. he left a dent! poor little boy just on his way to school, he must have fallen asleep. anyways, we had to get off and take the next bus...number 5. i've never taken no 5 and didn't know where it would go. la la la adventures! eventually i got off some random stop and walked for ages until i found something i recognized. i'm really glad i live in siena where i feel safe all of the time. even alone, even at night i feel safe.
i sat in piazza del campo for a million years today because it was so warm and i fear it will be bitter cold from here on out. i read a newspaper (with my dictionary in hand) and of course an older italian man decided to chat up the foreigner. he read my palm and asked me if i was a pisces. strano. apparently he is a chef and it's his one night off and he wants me to have dinner with him. it's too bad i have homework, so much homework (lies). maybe next time older guy. allora, i learned many new words today thanks to roberto! he introduced me to more people at more museums and got me permission (a name tag i think) to get into all of them for free. he gave me a little tour of the museo civico. i saw the good and bad government! i saw it! i work in the building that it is in! my life is amazing!
we went to florence for the weekend. che bella! i saw the duomo, ponte vecchio, some big mercati, la la la. i want to go back and walk the cemeteries. real bad. franchesca won't go with me.
