October 14-15

Monday the 14th
Flew from Madrid to Naples
Spent an hour in traffic on the bus - got hot and sweaty (traffic is terrifying)
Moved in to our large and awesome apartment
Showered
Went to Piazza Dante
Ate panino napoletano (ham, cheese, egg in a buttery pastry)
Ate sfogliatella
Ate canollo
Ate buffalo mozzarella with rosette on church steps
Walked around old town
Saw so many presepio (elaborate, intricate dioramas for Christmas)
Drank Fanta Limon (so good when it's so hot here)
Went to old book shops
Bought post cards
Sat in Piazza Dante watching kids play soccer
Ate pizza at Sorbillo
Went up the funicolare (the train that just goes up and down the mountain) up to Vomero for a walk
Saw a beautiful view of the city at night
Walked down Todd's favorite street
Ate gelato 


Tuesday the 15th
Ate peaches and persimmons 
Ate croque (fried balls filled with potatoes and cheese)
Ate arancini (fried balls of risotto with cheese, meat and ragu)
Ate the best yogurt I've ever had
Took the metro for so long by the time we got to where we were going we were ready for lunch
Bought tickets to Sorrento and Rome
Ate margherita pizzas at Pelone (foodgasm. They're giant and €3)
Took the train to Sorrento thinking we'd walk the beach, but spur-of-the-moment-Todd decided to get off the train at Herculaneum
Explored the ancient city of Herculaneum
Ate gelato (hazelnut with nutella and kinder)
Train back to Naples
Rested my pathetic, swollen feet
Decided we should eat more and go out for dinner at 10pm
Ate at Nenella (two amazing three course meals for €25. We were expecting the bill to be at least €50.)
Ate farfalle with fresh tomatoes and basil
Ate pasta e fagioli (bean, garlic and all creamy-like)
Ate bread
Ate prosciutto with buffalo mozzarella
Ate sausage with friarielli
Ate clementines for dessert
Walked around Piazza Del Plebiscito (right by our apartment and beautiful at night)
