Motherhood

So many people ask me, "How's motherhood? How do you like being a mom?" My answer is not that I've been waiting for it my whole life, nor that I love "being a mom," but rather that I love being her mom. This same thing happened after Todd and I were wed, only the questions regarded marriage. It wasn't marriage that I loved so much, it was being married to Todd, specifically. I don't think it's motherhood, itself, but it is the mothering of my tiny Regina Queen that is such a privilege. She is a delightful, smiley, talkative, cheery, squishy bundle of breathing, magical excitement and sometimes I am so enthralled with her tiny being.
